NH Research 9510-100 Regenerative Grid Simulator

The NH Research 9510-100 Regenerative Grid Simulator is an advanced testing solution designed for high-power, grid-tied applications.  It's suitable for Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) testing in research labs because it has an integrated power amplifier mode. Users may test a wide range of grid-connected devices with its flexible, scalable power range of 100 kW to 1.2 MW, all while adhering to international regulatory standards such as UL 1741SA, IEEE 1547, IEC 62116, and IEC 61000. The device can have an output that is either AC or DC, or both, and it enables programmable frequencies ranging from 30 Hz to 120 Hz. Because of its AC configuration, which may function in single-phase, split-phase, or three-phase modes, it can be used in a variety of testing circumstances.

Because of its exceptional versatility, the NHR 9510-100 can be used as a parallel or master auxiliary unit and can be field-expanded to accommodate higher power requirements. It's designed for testing grid-tied systems in different configurations because to its high-voltage remote sensing capabilities and support for power factors across a broad voltage range (up to 606 VL-L). Additionally, the gadget has a high-density construction that saves room without sacrificing power output.

The 9510-100's capacity to transfer power in both directions between the facility input and the Unit Under Test (UUT) is one of its most notable features. This is accomplished through a multi-stage power conversion process that begins with a reversible AC/DC inverter, then progresses to an isolating high-frequency DC/DC converter, and lastly to a DC-to-AC converter that produces the desired voltage, frequency, and power output. Its operational control and dependability are further improved by safety features including programmable trip limits and emergency shutoff.

Advanced internal monitoring features are also included with the NHR 9510-100. When an error or dangerous condition is discovered, the system actively monitors its internal temperature, bus voltage, and current limits. If necessary, it will shut down and isolate the system.
